Making MSN through Jabber shut up

I’ve been accessing the MSN Messenger instant messaging system using an MSN transport with Jabber that came with the Debian Linux distribution. Unfortunately, it always annoyed me tremendously because it always sent a system alert telling me how many messages I’ve received at Hotmail. Getting rid of this stops the MSN transport from sending system alerts from MSN, so I no longer have to look at stupid messages about 0 inbox-unread or 0 folder-unread counts. Now that I think about it, I can’t believe I missed that option when I looked over the configuration file for the MSN transport.
