Scoutle upgrade
After a couple of days of downtime, Scoutle has received a major upgrade. Scoutle is a tool for blogs to discover other blogs that works mostly automatically, and you can see a widget for it on the bottom of this very blog. Some of the changes that I could see are:
- A different interface.
- Different terminology.
- Recommends blogs to connect to.
- Easy widget installation for more blogging platforms.
- Adds relationships between users, not just between blogs.
- Geography-based blog discovery.
The Scoutle widgets look the same as before. Sadly, they didn’t incorporate my suggestion for a widget that is as capable as the classic one and yet avoids distracting animations.
